I’m probably the farthest thing away from a domestic goddess, and when I cook for myself I always make sure I follow a healthy recipe. I made this Baked Chicken Milanese from my favorite healthy food blog, SkinnyTaste and it was SO GOOD!
Ok, this is a little bit crazy but I bought this. Dermstore had a 20% sale on all devices this week so I couldn’t resist almost $100 off this LED lightmask. The reviews are good, and I’ve been hearing so much lately about all of the amazing skin benefits of both blue (for acne & acne scars) and red (for wrinkles & pore refining) LED lights. My skin has been a nightmare lately so I’m really excited to try this out, and feel like I got a 2 for 1 with the anti-aging & acne benefits! I’ll keep you guy posted on results.
Probably the ultimate Friday fave….I’m leaving for Cabo next Wednesday for a short getaway with my boyfriend & I can’t be more excited!
Leopard is kind of a neutral by now, but even so, I’ve been thoroughly surprised by its aggressive presence in NYFW outfits & all my favorite shopping sites this fall. I definitely knew it was a thinggggg and featured it in an earlier fall trends post (see here) but am so excited to see it splashed on everything from blouses to shoes to headbands. But it can be a tricky print to pull off. Some tips:
Keep the rest of your outfit simple. At most add in a red lip for some color, but leopard looks best with black, nude, white etc.
Some leopard print just looks kind of cheap. The spots are too small, too fake looking, the color is off etc. Use a discerning eye when pinking something out
Shoes are the easiest way to incorporate it into your look, I love a leopard pump with distressed jeans & a simple top.
Leopard is kind of an in your face print, so you want to make sure whatever you’re wearing isn’t too revealing. It’s very easy to veer into lady of the night territory with this look.
So go out & get yourself a leopard printed piece, I promise you’ll feel VERY Fall 2018 with it.

I’m late to the Summer Fridays party but I’ve arrived and I’m SO here for it. I know they launched a new product recently that I have yet to try, but I just used their OG JetLag mask when my skin was freaking out (breaking out but also dry… my boyfriend said I looked like a recovering Zombie, thanks babe!) and I woke up with smooth hydrated skin that glowed.
I’m shook. Honestly, I can’t wear these a ton because they’re a major statement piece… but the heart wants what it wants.
I somehow stumbled upon Lucy Wood’s channel on Youtube & am dying over her “Average Girls Tries Pretty Little Thing Model Outfits” video. Someone needs to show women that we can’t all pull off these ridiculous trendy looks made for models .. and that’s OK! She’s body positive, beautiful, hilarious & a great fashion & beauty resource.
I started reading Silence of the Girls this week and am almost done, I’m obsessed. It’s the classic Illiad told from a women’s point of view. If you love the classics but want something with a modern twist, you’ll love this.
Traditional diet & food philosophy has been to make sure you’re eating enough that you’re sated, but still in a calorie deficit. There’s the whole idea of eating every 3-4 hours, breakfast as the most important meal of the day and the fear of your body going into starvation mode if you aren’t eating enough.
Fasting goes against all of this, but I started looking into it when I realized I was hungry ALL THE TIME. I would wake up, workout and eat breakfast only to feel like I needed to eat again less than two hours later. It seemed like a waste of calories, especially when I was tracking my allotment for the day.
Intermittent fasting isn’t a diet, its a pattern of eating. There are many ways to fast but the most common, and probably the easiest is the 16-8 fast. This means you fast for 16 hours, and eat during an 8-hour window. This seems hard to do, but you’re actually sleeping for most of that 16 hour period.
Ex: If you eat dinner at 7 PM, you would not eat your next meal until 11 AM the following day. Your body is in a fasted state during this 16 hours window, which has a number of benefits, including increased HGH (Human Growth Hormone) which aids in muscle building & cell repair and lowered insulin levels, which let your body burn fat more efficiently– more info on this here.
I’ve been following this 16-8 pattern for the past few months and have seen a number of benefits
My hunger is more manageable. I’m able to stay full longer when I do eat.
I feel more sated because I’m able to eat larger meals during my eating window. This makes things like going out to eat much easier because I have more wiggle room as far as calories. I still try to make good choices, but this pattern allows me to be more relaxed with my diet. I don’t really need to have a “cheat meal” because I’m splitting up a full day of calories into two meals– roughly.
I’ve been able to maintain weight when eating poorly, doesn’t sound good but its true. I’ve gone on vacation & indulged and just have had weeks where I haven’t been great with my nutrition, but I haven’t gained any weight.
When I have buckled down on my diet, I’ve been able to lose weight that I really haven’t been able to lose otherwise (the “last five pounds”)
I’m not super strict with my eating window. I just make sure I wait 16 hours from my last meal to eat again, so If I go out to dinner with friends and don’t finish my meal until 9, I won’t eat the next day until 1 pm.
Time your workouts so that they’re at the tail end of your fast, which is in the morning. You’ll be working out in a fasted state, which burns more calories.
The first days are tough, but stick with it and your body will adjust. Coffee, tea & drinking tons of water helps.
It’s easier to eat earlier in the evening so you can eat earlier the next day, even though 16 hours is 16 hours, eating lunch at 2 still feels late.

`I rarely leave the house without a little glow. Whether it’s a little shimmer moisturizer mixed in with my sunscreen before a run, a swipe of highlighter when I’m doing a barely there look or a super-glam, blinding highlight, I don’t feel complete without a little glow. Here are some of my highlighting tips
I like to add a little shimmer during every step of my makeup process. I start by adding something like Mac Strobe Cream to my foundation, or in case of a “no-makeup” day, I mix it in with my sunscreen if I’m going outside.Once I have my foundation/bronzer/concealer done, I like to highlight all the high points of my face, down the bridge of my nose, my cupid’s bow, cheekbones, brow bones, the temple as well as the inner corner of my eye.
A note on color & tone– I always prefer a warm highlight over a cool one. Obviously, the exact shade depends on how deep your skin tone is, but very few people can pull off an icy, blue toned highlight. The whole goal of highlighter is to give you a healthy, glowy, lit-from-within look, and I find that happens best with peach, rose gold, bronze, or warm gold, highlights. I also shy away from anything to yellow gold as I think it looks a bit harsh.
Were officially in September! When fall comes around I like to freshen up my beauty routine, focusing on moisturizing masks, fall-inspired colors & maybe a foundation switch up.
I’m probably the last person to try this Summer Fridays mask, but I just grabbed one because I think it’s going to be helpful during this transitional time, my skins tends to freak out with temperature changes.

I have one color of this liquid lipstick and I’m a big fan, not too drying & lasts for a long time. I’m looking to grab some deeper colors to wear this season
This cranberry Tom Ford eye quad screams fall, and I love wearing warm colors on my eyes. It’s expensive but really luxurious looking

I managed to come down with a horrible cold this week, so I’m definitely happy it’s coming to a close! Despite that, these are a few of my favorite things from this last week in August!
I’m loving this $20 corduroy dress, these round(ish) RayBan aviators, this sheer kimono top (I just snagged the last one in my size but they are pre-selling some more) and this super luxe looking Rebecca Minkoff bag (under $300 bucks!)
Also obsessed with this wet hair look Kim K has been doing lately… definitely going to try to recreate it this soon

August is wrapping up quickly and I’m more than ready to start embracing fall. There are a few fall trends I’m super excited about, some new and some that I’m just happy to have back (like cropped wide-leg pants). Here are some of the pieces I have in my various shopping carts…
I’ve always loved leopard, but I definitely think it needs to be done in the right way for it to work. I like it best on basic shapes, ankle boots, midi skirts, shift dresses, wrap tops, t-shirts, etc. Basically, anything that would look good in basic black works in leopard and is just as versatile.
Anything checked is another go to print for fall. I especially like how it looks on mini dresses, jumpsuits & blazers. I’d pair these pieces with simple gold jewelry and a red lip.
I LOVE slip dresses. There are so many ways to style them– pair them with sneakers and a denim jacket for a casual day look, a leather or suede jacket & heels for night. I also like a t-shirt or tank layered as well so it looks like you’re wearing a midi skirt.
As a condiment I’m lukewarm on mustard, as a color I’m all in. It looks super cute in simple t-shirts & accessories but is also a great statement maker in something like a midi dress.
